SAN DIEGO, California (21 March 2022) The Edison Awards globally recognizes, honors and fosters innovations and innovators whose solutions make a positive impact in the world. As a 2022 Edison Award Finalist, Energy Cloud Inc. is honored to be included among the elite group of finalists recognized for excellence in innovation.

Hummingbird™ with Air Vaccine™ and the ABATE™ bio-aerosol testing system (Airborne, Biological, Assessment, Threat, Elimination System) excelled during the voting process, and reached finalist status in the very competitive Covid-19 Innovations category. Hummingbird™ proved efficacy of 99.5% or greater of COVID-19 in the first pass through the system. The system additionally proved to deactivate Covid-19 variants, tested with the South African Beta variant at the USC Keck School of Medicine Hastings Foundation and The Wright Foundation Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory.

“Our goal was to prove out efficacy testing with actual HVAC airflows with the infectious COVID-19 aerosolized virus. In order to do that, we needed to invent a new system capable of measuring and capturing the virus in an HVAC system while fitting it within a biosafety lab. From there we set out to bring lab level of air purification and indoor air quality measurement and make them affordable to the general commercial and residential markets,” said Energy Cloud CEO John Carrieri.

Hosted by Miles O’Brien, journalist from PBS NewsHour, all the finalists will be honored at the 2022 Edison Awards held April 21st, at the Luminary Hotel in Ft. Myers, Florida. Edison Award attendees will experience game-changing new products and services and learn from today's greatest innovators.
