Software alone cannot understand a building. It has no way to observe what is actually happening inside one - what the equipment is doing, how occupants are using the space, or why today's numbers look different from yesterday's. Someone has to build the infrastructure that continuously measures, controls and interacts with the physical building before any of that becomes possible.

Energy Cloud® is that infrastructure. Our sensing, control and purification systems run inside real buildings today, generating a continuous stream of operational data - and, more importantly, building an evolving, customer-specific understanding of how each facility is actually designed and expected to operate. That understanding is what lets the platform tell the difference between a real problem and a building doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Platform Learning

How the platform learns a building

Every Energy Cloud deployment runs the same loop, continuously - each pass builds on the operational knowledge the platform already has of that building.

1. Measure & Interact

Revenue-grade sensing and control infrastructure captures electricity as often as every 3-15 seconds and air quality and environmental conditions every 30 seconds - with the precision to trust the result and the ability to act directly on the physical building.

2. Learn This Building

The platform preserves what makes this facility different - its equipment, schedules, operating mandates, engineering preferences, and history of faults and fixes.

3. Understand & Predict

AI learns the relationships between systems, recognizes patterns, and predicts future conditions and true anomalies against that building's own normal.

4. Detect • Cure • Monitor

Understanding becomes action - a recommendation, an automated response, or closed-loop control - then the platform keeps watching to confirm the fix holds.

5. Measurable Outcomes

Lower energy spend, less water waste, healthier air, longer equipment life, and a building that runs closer to how it was designed to run.

6. Every Building Expands the Model

What the platform learns here sharpens what it already knows everywhere else, while this building keeps becoming its own continuously evolving AI knowledge model.

Real-time Data

Real-time data changes what AI can see

Peak KW & Amp Report

gMeter Peak KW - Amp Demand Report: three stacked charts showing total power draw, total amperage and hourly kWh over a 24-hour period, each with the peak value and exact timestamp called out

Peak KW and Amp reporting can spot your peaks with pinpoint accuracy - down to the second.

Most "energy management" systems sample every 15 to 60 minutes. At that resolution, a demand spike that lasts two minutes disappears into the average - and so does the signature that would have identified exactly which piece of equipment caused it.

Energy Cloud measures electricity as often as every 3 to 15 seconds, and air quality and environmental conditions every 30 seconds, with even finer resolution available where a building or application calls for it. That frequency is what lets the platform pinpoint a demand peak to the moment it happened and recognize the energy signature of a specific system or device, rather than average the problem away.

It also depends on trustworthy sensors, not just fast ones:

  • Revenue-grade electric metering, ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 accuracy (±0.2%)
  • Ultrasonic digital water metering, not analog dials
  • Indoor air quality measured across 18 distinct parameters
  • Particulate sensors rated for 10 years of continuous operation, where a typical commercial sensor lasts about 4
  • CO2 sensors built to resist the drift that degrades accuracy in less capable sensors over time

Edison Award

2022 Edison Award Winner

Hummingbird® won an Edison Award for it's ability to instantly neutralize viruses such as Covid-19 99.99%, tested at the USC Keck School of Medicine BSL Level 3 lab.

gMeter® is the utility measurement layer - real-time electricity, water, gas and BTU intelligence down to the individual circuit. Hummingbird® is the building-health layer - environmental sensing, indoor air quality and active purification, along with HVAC learning and control. Neither is a standalone product; each is how the platform senses and acts on a different part of the building, feeding the same AI understanding underneath.

The platform is also built to work alongside the systems already running in a building rather than replace them - communicating over BACnet, Modbus and other standard building-automation protocols, integrating with existing BMS platforms, and exposing APIs for utility interval data and third-party systems. Data is transmitted and stored securely, and access is scoped to the customer it belongs to - a platform that touches building operations has to earn that trust before it earns anything else.

The full AI component set

Every one of these feeds the same platform - the same measurement discipline, the same AI understanding, the same closed loop.

Power Meters

Revenue-grade and non-revenue-grade electric metering to meet every commercial and residential need.

Water Meters

Wireless, wired, inline and ultrasonic clamp-on water metering for any size deployment.

Gas Meters

Natural and propane gas metering, whether it's a kitchen, a laundry, a pool heater or a process load.

BTU Meters

Thermal energy metering for chilled and hot water loops, central plants and campus distribution, measuring not only BTU output, but the underlying parameters of flow, temperature deltas and energy source.

Air Quality Monitoring

Hummingbird® IAQ sensing measures 18 distinct air quality parameters - CO2, particulates, humidity and more - every 30 seconds, not once an hour.

Air Purification

Hummingbird® active purification acts directly on the air it monitors - detecting, reducing and continuing to verify healthy conditions.

Shares data over standard protocols such as BACnet, or through building API bridges - it coexists with the BMS you already run.

Building-Specific Knowledge

Why customer-specific operational knowledge matters

A generic anomaly detector only knows industry averages. Energy Cloud knows this building - which is the difference between a system that flags noise and one you can actually trust to act.

Intent, not just data.
A hotel ballroom kept unusually cold and running around the clock might be storing flowers for an event. A generic system reads that as waste. Energy Cloud reads it correctly, because it knows why this room runs the way it does.

Who decides, not just what's wrong.
A leak on an irrigation line can shut off automatically. A leak in a hotel wing full of guests may need a director of engineering to investigate first. Same fault, different correct response - because the platform knows the operating mandate.

Why, not just how much.
Two kitchens of similar size can use very different amounts of energy. Rather than flag the higher one against a generic benchmark, Energy Cloud compares operational context across both to find the actual cause.

That knowledge compounds in two directions at once. Across every deployment, the platform recognizes building types, climates, equipment families and fault patterns it has seen before. Within each customer's own buildings, it learns that property's specific policies, history and exceptions. Every deployment expands Energy Cloud's operational knowledge of how each building is designed to operate, making every future decision more accurate, contextual and valuable.

Detect • Cure • Monitor

across every system

This isn't a slogan, it's our core philosophy - the same three-step discipline running underneath every part of the platform, in every building. Why is this important? “Detecting the problem is good, curing the problem is even better, but then continuous monitoring is the only way you can keep your buildings staying efficient and healthy.” — John Carrieri, CEO

Energy

Detect abnormal demand or waste. Cure it through control action or a change in behavior. Monitor to hold the gain.

Water & Gas

Detect a leak or unusual use. Cure it by notification, repair workflow, or approved automatic shutoff. Monitor to confirm normal operation resumes.

Indoor Air Quality

Detect elevated CO2, particulates, pathogens or other unhealthy conditions. Cure through ventilation or purification. Monitor to maintain healthy air.

HVAC

Detect inefficiency, comfort deviation or early failure signatures. Cure through adjustment, optimization or repair. Monitor to validate the result holds.

"Energy Cloud doesn't simply collect building data - it continuously detects problems, cures them, and monitors results, creating customer-specific operational knowledge that makes every future decision smarter."
